Back to Basics: My Simple Grocery Reset After Traveling
After traveling, one of the first things I do is get back into rhythm with a solid grocery reset. No overthinking. No intense meal plans. Just real, nourishing basics that fuel my body & basically gives it a reminder.
If you travel often, I knooowww you’ve been there too: out of routine, bloated from airport snacks and restaurant meals, dry skin, dehydration & a lack of workouts. It’s just an entire mess!
Keep in mind, this reset isn’t about dieting. It’s about fueling and healing. Read below for the basic essentials I always reach for when it’s time to get back into the swing of things.
🛒 My Grocery Reset Staples
Tuna Packets
Great protein to add to just about anything. My favorite use for tuna packets: adding to a salad or eating it with rice and seaweed, it’s the best! You can also pair it with crackers, or just eat it directly out of the packet with a fork.
Apples
A crisp, energizing snack that helps me reset my sweet cravings without grabbing processed sugar. This is also one of my favorite fruits to juice.
Salad Kits
If I’m being honest, I’m not prepping fresh greens after a trip. A grab-and-go salad kit makes it easier to get fiber and nutrients without the extra effort. Throw a packet of tune in & you’ll have a filling meal before you know it!
Lemons
I always, always need lemon. I add it to my tea, mid-day water (talk about refreshing) and use for deodorant (it works, just detox your arms first).
Ginger
I usually grab fresh ginger root to add to my fresh juices, make tea or just to chew (sounds odd doesn’t it?). It’s amazing for bloating and gut health, especially after a stretch of eating out.
Kombucha
When I’m feeling lazy & don’t want to juice, this is where Kombucha comes in. I love sipping this in the afternoon for a probiotic boost. To my endometriosis girlies, this is ggrreeeaattt for inflammation.
Keep It Simple, Seriously.
People often ask how to start eating cleaner. My biggest tip? Be simple.
Grab the items that you enjoy & make you feel good…but items that actually nourish you. I’m not talking about chips and candy 😂 There’s no way you can mistake that here, so don’t try to twist my words!
Don’t overwhelm yourself, a post-travel reset is about intention, not perfection. It’s a reminder that fueling and healing your body are acts of self-care. And when you fuel yourself well, everything else flows bette: your energy, your mindset, your digestion.
Remember, food is power, so take advantage of it!
