Dying Your Eyebrows
My hair has been burgundy (magenta if we're being brand specific) for approximately nine years now and I've colored my brows doing the same process for six years.
I always receive compliments about my hair but my brows always gets the "wow factor”—oftentimes, this is awkward because people stare to see if they're drawn! I fill my brows in vverrryyyy little, & that's only if they need to be touched up. @MyEyebrowLady is bomb af, so it's rarely needed!
What You’ll Need:
Loreal's Hicolor Highlight in Magenta
Clairol 20/30 Developer (the volume depends on the thickness of your brows, how much they've grown in & the tone you want. I use 20 for my weekly/bi-weekly touch-ups. 30 after three or more weeks)
Coconut Oil
Mixing bowl
Toothbrush
Brush to apply dye
Shampoo/Facial Cleanser
Conditioner
Towel/Cotton Pad- dampen with cold water
Please note: Apparently this isn't recommended by estheticians but I've informed you all countless times that I'm not one, saaoooo do as you please!!
What to Do:
Wash, dry & brush your eyebrows
Outline brows with coconut oil
Combine half a cap of developer & a dollop of hair dye then mix
Apply to brows
Wait. The time depends on the thickness of your brow. I wait at least 6 minutes & never over 15 minutes.
Wipe with towel/cotton pad
Apply shampoo/facial cleanser to toothbrush & wash brows
Wipe with towel
Observe the greatness then apply conditioner (match the processing time)
If you want a lighter color, repeat steps 1-9 but brush brows in a different direction before applying color & be mindful to not allow the color to process as long—half of your initial processing time should suffice. If the color goal was reached, go be great & love up all of the compliments!
If you somehow screwed up…:
To revert, repeat steps 1-9, using a rinse (semi-permanent) that's your natural color.
To change your new color to a different color or tone... see where a little trial & error gets ya then let me know!
