A Runner's Paradise

Boooossttooonnnn!

Before I arrived in MA, I promised myself to run, no matter how cold it would be! I’m ecstatic I did, I can’t get over how amazing it was! From the weather, other runners, foliage, drivers & dogs… it was such a perfect morning. I honestly felt as if I was living in a coloring book… like a little Disney show! lol

It was roughly 57-62 degrees but the sun helped a great amount. I started in Seaport, continued to the Emerald Necklace—where I meditated & did a few yoga flows then I turned around & ran to Pavement Coffeehouse for breakfast. It was a lovely 6.2 mi that I honestly didn’t want to end but my phone was dying & I had a reservation to get ready for. So after breakfast, I Ubered back to the hotel, I was still in a daze the entire ride.

Oh! While running to the Emerald Necklace, I passed “Church at the Park”, I stopped for a few moments & loved it. I’m not sure if it was because of COVID or not but I think it’s a marvelous idea.

What I took note of during my run:

  1. Compared to South Floridians, Bostonians are late risers! I didn’t start running until about 0732 & other than runners, there wasn’t anyone else out. The streets were still quite empty at 1100, maybe due to COVID I’m not sure.

  2. They respect the mask!!! In SoFlo, masks aren’t mandatory while running, so running with a mask was tough for me but I eventually stopped thinking about it. Moving forward, I will definitely wear my mask while exercising outside.

  3. Pet walkers & readers cheer you on…hahaha

  4. There were just as many walkers as there were runners.

  5. My hair didn’t friiiizzzzz!!! My scrunchie fell but it didn’t matter. We were frizz free bayyybbeeee!

  6. I learned more about history during my run than my years in grade school. I disliked history ssaoooo much in school—it always put me to sleep.

Because of my amazing run in Boston, I’m now considering a “running tour”—visiting a city once every season with one simple goal—to run. It’s a bit tough now due to COVID but I’ll definitely let you all know when I kick this off.
