Finding An Intention to Move Your Body

I recently posted a poll on Instagram, to pick the mind of my Followers a bit & work on new content that will be more beneficial to them.

The first poll was: Which do you need to work on: (1) Setting an Intention to Move Your Body Daily or (2) Choosing Healthier Relationships.

The majority confirmed that they need to work on setting an intention to move their body daily.

This helped me to visually comprehend how many people don’t know/understand the benefits of moving the body, beyond the physicalities; lack self-discipline; fail to know the privilege of moving their bodies daily & freely; live in self-doubt; may be unhappy don’t care about improving their bodies mentally & physically or they’re simply too comfortable.

I know some of you may think my said reasons are a bit drastic, but all of my Followers are between the ages of 25-38. So to me, one struggling to set an intention to move their body daily says more than it doesn’t. To me, daily movement of the body emulates dedication, focus, self-discovery & passion.

Setting an intention & making an effort to move the body is about nurturing our overall well-being & embracing a mindset of self-care & dedication.

So the question now is, what to do? How to inspire? How to help others restructure?

I honestly don’t know, so I’m going to start by what I think is best & the easiest—providing clarity of what setting an intention is, by sharing my daily intentions. Many may be surprised, my daily intentions to work out are rarely related to anything physical… it’s all mentally based for me.

My everyday intention to move my body is to maintain mental clarity. By dedicating time to physical activity, my intentions are: to connect/communicate with my body, clear my mind of clutter, reduce any hidden stress, enhance my cognitive function, decrease any fatigue mentally & to finalize any pending decisions. Furthermore, I’ve experienced literally being unable to move my body, due to the Robotic Laparoscopy Surgery I underwent in December. So every chance I get to workout, I take advantage of it. It’s a privelege.

When setting an intention, you’re telling yourself what you intend to do…in life. Setting an intention to move your body daily isn’t all about lifting heavier, running further, getting a bigger butt or losing “x” amount of pounds. Can those be your intentions? Yes, there’s nothing wrong with that; however, those intentions may provide more pressure than motivation.

So if you’re finding it challenging to find an intention to workout daily, ask yourself if you’re only focused on…physical outcomes. Sometimes you just need to move your body & THINK or don’t think at all!

Remember, setting an intention to move your body daily is about nurturing your overall well-being & embracing a mindset of self-care & dedication.

So take the time to communicate & connect with your body. Stretch, go for a walk, take alone time to breathe or just sit still in the sun.

Just set your intentions & let the movement flow, allow yourself to embrace the journey with openness & authenticity to develop the best version of your self.
