Wash Your Fruits & Vegetables!
If you've followed me for a while, you know my journey of becoming a health enthusiasts started with my fruit allergies. When you have an allergic reaction to food, it hits different because you neevverr know which tiniest amount of an ingredient screwed your entire system. I’ve experienced this multiple times & over the years, properly washing my fruits has helped the most.
Here’s what to do…
Wash your sink—imperative for me, I use bleach daily!
Fill sink with lukewarm water
Add two to three bottle caps of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
Soak for at least 20 min.
Dry fruits:
Place on paper towels to air dry
Dry with towel
Observe the disgusting water
Store & enjoy!
It wasn't until two years ago at a Farmer's Market, a farmer asked if I washed my fruits & vegetables when purchasing from a grocery store. He made sure I understood: "Not just rinse darling, do you WASH them?!" He then continued to explain that I'm probably allergic to the pesticides, not the fruits. "Think about it, why would you want to eat a fruit that flies avoid because of poison? If it poisons an animal, it'll poison you. Maybe not as harsh, but poison is poison..." My jaw hit the floor!
Since that day, I took his advice by soaking my fruits & vegetables in Apple Cider Vinegar no matter where I purchased them.
