End Your Day With an Intention
There are countless blogs & posts about how to start your day but not many people acknowledge the importance of how you end your day. If I had to choose, I’d definitely choose a night routine instead of morning. It’s a 2-in-1—where decompression meets preparation—you wash the day away & reflect as you prepare for a better tomorrow. Whether the day was great or horrible always set an intention to do better the next day. We all know, the more you accomplish at night, the smoother & more relaxed the following morning will be. Although I go to sleep fairly late, I start winding down a few minutes after 11…
Key factors of my night routine to start settling my mind:
Light Sage/Palo Santo
Relaxing music, interview or a motivational speech/podcast
Fav. p.m. music/artists: Quin, Miguel, SiR, Twigs & One Tree Hill Mix
Cleaning “touch-up”
Shower
Yoga flow/stretch
Silk robe (essential to the vibe)
I know many of you may be wondering about dinner, but I usually eaten by 7 p.m. My dinners are light, I hate going to sleep with a full stomach.
Through my process of winding down, I reflect by asking myself the following questions, in no specific order:
Did you wake up on time? Why/why not?
Did you stretch/workout?
Ate three meals?
Did you allow someone/thing offset your balance?
What made your heart smile?
Did you cry? How did you feel after?
Did you accomplish a daily goal/your to-do list?
How was work?
Did you help/inspire anyone?
Did you post on social media?
Scheduled blog?
This may seem like a lot but once it becomes a habit, you’ll be excited to start getting ready for bed. The goal is to take more time with yourself to learn yourself & see what truly works for you. I’m a major fan of meditating but I also know there’s more than one route to ease your mind & find out who you truly are.
To my beauty lovers, my p.m. skincare routine is below. My routine is more extensive at night, with the purpose of replenishing my skin for the next day:
Nighttime Skincare Routine:

Mask (if it’s mask day)

Apply Sunscreen (yes at night as well, my skin loves it)
Finish water if day water intake goal isn’t met
Oral Hygiene: ya gotta brush at night! Here are the basics, I’ll be posting a detailed blog for this soon (I love, love oral hygiene):
