How I Accidentally Started a Business

“Keep your faith, head high, do what makes you happy and everything else will take care of its self." -Uncle Big Greg 4.25.15

My sole purpose of creating a website was to share my online modeling portfolio & to have more freedom when creating. We all know the social media guidelines can be limiting. I wanted to learn more, do more & share more. I was yearning for the freedom we had on MySpace, so I created my space, which is now our space—xoJR (that was a BAR!!!).

I had no idea where this journey was going to take me, but I felt like it was something I was supposed to do. Fast forward four years later, I have clients yall!! From sharing behind the scenes of photoshoots, fashion shows, healthy eating tips & makeup products to adding web design services, fitness & health guidance, xoJR evolved into a business. Before I realized the site was transitioning, I had the toughest time coming to terms with what exactly xoJR was. I was honestly shook. There was so much happening, I had to stop & remember that xoJR, is in fact me, the name on my birth certificate. So the site is actually whatever the hell I say…

So, how did I accidentally create a business? I followed my heart & did something that made me smile internally without the thought of money. I learned a load growing up but the one lesson my parents (hiii parents!) constantly drilled into my head was to live, live every single day & be happy. That’s what I’ve done, that’s what I will continue to do & that’s what I hope to inspire others to do as well.

Cheers to more life & as my favorite, Matthew Mcconaughey would say, “just keep livin’”.
