How to Start Living the Life You Dream Of

A pet peeve of mine, used to be people not accepting help when offered or them complaining about something they don’t have. The annoyance came from love because seeing someone else grow truly makes my heart smile but I had to realize people can only further themselves if they truly want to, not merely from influence.

Some people complain daily about not being where they want to be; however, they also continue with their daily habits/routines with zero intentions of changing them.

There comes a point in everyone’s life, when he/she has to stop & accept themselves as the issue. Don’t allow this fact to make you feel like a failure (we don’t believe in that word over here), this is when you take responsibility by making a change.

Not sure where to start? Take a look at the list below. Whether you start at number 1, 9 or 12, start somewhere & don’t you dare stop.

xoJR’s Tips to Better Yourself… for Yourself:

  1. Acknowledge yourself as the cause for everything you complain to not be.

  2. Take note of your daily routines, actions & who you speak to. Jot it all down every day this week.

  3. Factor out the bad habits… you know what they are.

  4. Remove the people in your life who don’t want to do more/better.

  5. Find an accountability partner.

  6. Go to sleep & wake up an hour earlier than usual.

  7. Stop listening to music that doesn’t reflect positivity.

  8. Save money by not purchasing Starbs, food, alcohol, drugs or marijuana.

  9. Find a podcast or motivational speeches to listen to as you end your day or shower.

  10. Drink &/or smoke less.

  11. Write down goals you allowed yourself to not achieve.

  12. Get active—walk, run, stretch, dance… get out there & get your blood flowing!

  13. Search for your why (this may not be an easy one to answer).

  14. Do something different—anything, just do it.

  15. Stop depending on others.

  16. Take a break from social media.

  17. Research everything!

  18. Talk to your high power, He/She/It will never let you down.

As you can see, all of the tips listed, command you to make changes. Trust me, I didn’t get here by faithfully attending brunch every Sunday, clubbing, or keeping up with senseless entertainment drama. I promise, you will not live a better life without sacrifices but once you do, you’ll see how much you’ve wasted your own time. Change can be fearful, I know, just remember, whatever & whoever you lose along the way, may not have had the best intentions.

As always, if you need/want my help, you know how to reach me!
