Intermittent Fasting
As a breakfast junkie, Intermittent (does anyone else have difficulties pronouncing this word?) Fasting was never on my radar, until my eating schedule unintentionally & slowly began to change in September, when I was with my parents. Their breakfast schedule is much later than mine, so I was eventually doing the same. I didn’t recognize the change until I returned home but I wanted to ensure I was eating later with an intention & not being lazy, which brought me to intermittent fasting. It has officially been about two full weeks of consistency & let me tell ya… I kinda love it.
My current eating schedule:
As you see, not a variety of foods are listed. I’m not a foodie, I can eat the same foods every single day & be perfectly satisfied. I’m only a foodie when it comes to sushi & seafood, other than that I’m happy with veggies!
What I noticed within the last two weeks:
I feel more hydrated
Little to no bloating…even after eating
No urge to order via Uber Eats—I even skipped my curry chicken Sundays
No cravings—I thought about ice cream often but never actually craved it
Increased energy levels, I’m way more hyper than usual
No sugar rushes!! This was a huge deal for me, I’m not sure if it was a coincidence or what
My intention was not to lose weight, so I didn’t measure myself but I’m sure I’ve lost a few inches in my waist area. I definitely feel a difference.
The only reason I won’t continue intermittent fasting on a daily basis, is because of the nausea I feel when I smell cooked food. If my body could choose a raw based diet for me, I’m sure it would! If I made the commitment to change my diet to plant based, I’m sure I would be able to do so without an issue. Simply because, it’s easy for my body to adjust to detoxes, fasting & vegan meals because of the routine I’ve created for my body.
So maybe I’ll chose set a schedule for intermittent fasting… three times out of the week. I have to find my balance first, then I’ll follow-up with an update!
Do I recommend this for you? I’ll say it’s definitely worth a 2/3 week trial, then you make the decision for yourself. All of our bodies operate differently, so as always, you have to work to find what’s best for you.
